Parimal M. Sadaphal (Director); Experience: 30 years
M.Sc. (Agril. Engg.) from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. Having worked in international NGOs such as TERI, International Development Enterprises, Canadian Hunger Foundation (CHF-PARTNERS, Winrock International India, A well-known authority Rural Energy and Renewable Energy who has pioneered work on enhancement of rural livelihoods through integration of renewable energy. Is recognized as an expert on renewable energy, rural energy issues, environment and development by international agencies such as The World Bank, UNDP, ADB, IFC, IPE-Global, IT-Power, etc. and is working as a consultant for them from time to time. Some projects conceived and implemented by him have got international recognition including the Ashden Award for Sustainable Energy. He has also worked extensively with several grassroots NGOs and contributed to enhancement of their programmatic activity as well as capacity. Working with communities at village level has been his passion, as a consequence of which, he has visited several hundred villages across the country. Parimal is the nephew of renowned social worker Baba Amte and has been influenced by his thinking since early childhood. He has also been associated with other important personalities in the NGO sector such as Mr. K. Viswanathan from Mitraniketan, Deep Joshi from PRADAN, Father Matthew Vadakkemuriyil of Malanadu Development Society Kanjirapally, etc. He has also been the student of the renowned authority on Agricultural Engineering and Director IARI, Dr. A. M. Michael. Lastly, Parimal is an accomplished sitar player and very senior disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar. During more than 25 years of association with him, Parimal has travelled with Panditji and performed with him in several countries spanning Europe and the USA.
Deepak Nanda (Director); Experience: 37 years
Mechanical Engineer, having experience in Quality Management Systems, Training, Prototype Development, Mass Production, Low Cost Automation, Cost Reduction, Marketing and Project Evaluation. Deepak has worked in the Corporate sector that included Hero-Honda, Escorts, Sriram Fibers etc. for more than 15 years before switching over to the NGO sector. Due to this dual experience, he has developed a unique skill set that enables him to infuse professionalism into the NGO sector. Has pioneered the application of quality management systems in rural development interventions. In particular, he has pioneered usage of user friendly management system in the poultry sector promoted by PRADAN resulting in major boost in profits. He has worked in leading multinationals, corporates as well as international NGOs and bilateral / multilateral agencies such as International Finance Corporation and UNDP. He is also a certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
M. Karruppasamy (Director); Experience: 32 years
MCA from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He has considerable experience in Computer software, Hardware, Information Technology, Networking and Call Centre Operations. Closely associated with several development initiatives. He is an able administrator and problem solver.

Parag M. Sadaphal
B. Sc., LLB, Delhi University, Company Secretary, While running his own manufacturing unit that produced nature friendly cosmetics, his main area of expertise lies in legal matters and Company affairs.
M. Sc. (Agril Engg) from Indian Agricultural Research Institute. He has worked in prominent companies such as Sterling Machine Tools. He has also been a Faculty member in the Punjab Agricultural University. He has been associated with noted non- profit organizations such as PRADAN and Society for Wastelands Development. His areas of expertise are Watershed Management, Rural Development and Water issues.
B. Tech. (Agril. Engg.) from PAU Ludhiana. He has been a meritorious student with a brilliant academic record. He as served in the Research & Development Centre of Escorts, Ltd. After which he set up his own industrial unit that produces antennae. His main areas of expertise lie in Manufacturing, Production and Engineering Design.
Development professional with over 13 years of experience on projects in India in the areas of urban poverty, livelihoods, social empowerment & community driven development; gender equity and social inclusion; community participation; rehabilitation & resettlement. Worked with National and State Governments and steered implementation of capacity building and urban poverty reduction programmes and formulated urban poverty reduction strategies. Experience of working with multi-bilateral agencies on technical and programmatic operational support for sustainable development.
Being a Marketing Professional with experience in analytics, she has worked in media, events, renewable energy and sanitation. She completed her Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Sri Venkateswara College, University of Delhi and Master's degree in Chemistry from University of Delhi. She also holds MBA in Marketing and Communications from MICA. During her tenure in World Bank, she worked with Joint Secretary/Director, Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation in conceptualizing and developing the Disbursement Linked Indicators for allocating Swachh Bharat Mission World Bank loan to States on the basis of their performance. She also contributed in analyzing data resulting in greater emphasis on community led Open Defecation free villages while conducting field visits to various States across India.
A development management professional (Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Institute of Rural Management, Jaipur) with more than 9 years of work experience. Have had opportunities to work on various development projects in India with Government of India; State Governments of Rajasthan, Bihar and Jharkhand; Donor agencies like UNICEF and World Bank; INGO like Care India; Social Research Organization like New Concept Information Systems Ltd. and Global Consulting Organization like Ernst and Young LLP. The development sectors I worked with include women and child development, livelihoods, education and social protection wherein the key tasks I handled include policy review, planning, support in National scheme design and transformation (ICDS Mission and Multisectoral Nutrition Scheme), planning and executing field survey, public finance management (budget planning (12th five year plan) and execution for Ministry of WCD /MTEF/monitoring expenditures), data analysis, designing MIS formats/ tools, support in M&E system establishment and streamlining, guidelines preparation, bid management (RFP/RFQ/ToR preparation & procurement tracking), report/proposal writing, project coordination and management and liaison with multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
Dr. Michael Maves
Dr. Michael Maves has enjoyed a number of phases in his career. He is a board certified academic head and neck surgeon who served as Professor and Chair of the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri. He has excelled as an administrator, serving as the EVP of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and for 10 years as the CEO of the American Medical Association, the largest physician group in the US. Lastly Mike has worked in global health as Executive Vice President of Project HOPE, an international medical NGO with programs around the world and the US Pharmacopeia, where he helped guide worldwide programs in pharmaceutical safety, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Maves has a passion for the people and culture of India. He is a student of Indian classical music and plays the sitar as well as sitting on the board of the Ravi Shankar Foundation in New Delhi. Mike, his youngest son Christopher and wife help privately support the Chinmaya Vijaya Orphanage and NRI Academy of Sciences in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh.
Abul Hashem is a results-oriented public health and development executive with extensive experience in designing and implementing programs globally. His expertise includes strategic planning, organizational development, project management, business development, market analysis, partnership building, proposal writing, staff development and capacity building. He managed large and complex projects at global, regional, and country levels involving numerous subcontractors, partners and multi-disciplinary and multi-ethnic staff. A visionary leader, strategic thinker, entrepreneur and excellent communicator with an extensive and global network he has worked in 56 countries. He has lived in Bangladesh and Thailand outside USA. He received his Master’s degree from University of Chittagong and a Master Trainer certificate from the University of Connecticut.
Yugandhar Mandavkar has thirty years of experience of working with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) in India and strengthening them for community empowerment and community managed natural resources management. Has extensively worked on promotion of community managed rural water supply, water governance and decentralised environmental sanitation. Was involved in capacitating communities and community based organisations for sustainable water use and groundwater management. Has extensive field experience in design, development and management of decentralised projects, in India and abroad, with focus on inclusive community institutions and their empowerment. Has experience in aquifer modelling and aquifer water management. Played key role in design and formulation of CSO-centred development programmes like the Indo-German Watershed Development Programme (supported by KfW-NABARD) District Poverty Initiatives Programme (the World Bank supported District Poverty Initiatives Programme in Madhya Pradesh (DPIP-MP), Panchayat Raj Institutions and Water Sanitation and Hygiene Programme (PRI and WASH) in Himachal Pradesh with supported by GtZ, Micro-Area Development Programme, Afghanistan and Kutch Drought Proofing Programme (supported by MoRD, GOI and PMNRF). One such project of GRASP on management of groundwater by community institutions qualified for Development Marketplace in 2007. Has vast experience in participatory technology development and enhancing technology management capacities of people in a variety of socio-economic and ecological conditions. Being well versed with techniques of Project Cycle Management, PRA, LFA, RBM, PIME and Moderation, has vast experience of capacity building of community leaders, government and civil society officials on various aspects of WASH. Has excellent skills in computers, software packages and data analysis.
